Highlights:
Imagine miles of quiet forests and shimmering lakes and youve got a pretty good idea of how the areas around Borne-Sulinowo and Szczecinek look. More than half of the land here is covered by forests, the area boasts over 50 lakes, and, because of the regions peculiar Cold War past, this natural wonderland remains relatively untouched by tourism and somewhat undiscovered. The tourists who do come here mostly Poles or neighboring Germans rave about this peaceful setting that still offers opportunities to fish, hike, mountain bike and horse-back ride. We think this tranquil area will be a perfect place for volunteers to relax after teaching. For those wishing to explore even more, the Baltic coast with its beaches, sand dunes, and coastal resorts beckons for weekend getaways accessible by public transportation.
