Description:
Spanish language skills are incredibly valuable for any health professional. The Medical Spanish Intensive is a language immersion program designed to give you the tools you need to operate in a Spanish-speaking clinical setting. The program combines Spanish immersion with medical specific vocabulary, cultural training, and volunteer work. You will develop the skills and vocabulary necessary to effectively communicate with Spanish-speaking patients and health professionals. Each day starts with 4 hours of intensive Spanish classes followed by 2-4 hours of volunteer work in local clinics and health organizations. Through volunteering, you will put the concepts covered in class to use in a clinical setting.
Highlights:
Spanish classes are limited to 6 students per teacher in order to offer highly individualized instruction. Classes meet for four hours a day and the program includes a total of 80 hours of language instruction.
